Matt graduated from the University of Georgia with a BBA in Accounting and a Masters of Accountancy with a focus in auditing. Prior to joining the firm in 2003, he worked as a tax associate in a local Athens, Georgia CPA firm as well as an audit associate with a Big-4 international accounting firm. Matt serves in the financial institutions practice of the firm, specializing in information systems audits and penetration testing, financial statement audits, and SOX 404 consulting work for community banks. He is the network administrator for the firm, and also develops software solutions for internal use as well as custom solutions for clients.

PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC AFFILIATIONS

Matt is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in the State of Georgia and is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. He holds the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) designation for penetration testing. He is also a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and member of the Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA). He is a member of a local community service organization for young professionals and is also involved with the Magnolia Midlands chapter of the American Red Cross.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Matt is the singer and rhythm guitarist in the local southern rock band Days After with his brother, who plays piano and keyboards. He and his wife Cristi are the proud adopted parents of two Scottish Terriers, (Christmas) Katy and Herschel. On a fall Saturday afternoon, he is typically in Athens watching the Dawgs 'tween the hedges.
