BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE

Spencer is a principal with over 28 years of public accounting experience.  Before joining Thigpen, Jones, Seaton & Co. for a second time in 2003, he had spent 15 years as a partner with another local firm.  Spencer’s responsibilities include providing tax, accounting and consulting services to a wide variety of business and individual clients.  He has extensive experience in the construction and convenience store chains as well as petroleum distribution, financial institutions and real estate development.  Spencer received a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting from Georgia Southern University.

PROFESSIONAL AND CIVIC AFFILIATIONS

Spencer has been involved in leadership positions in numerous professional and civic organizations through the years.  He is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as well as the Georgia Society of Certified Public
Accountants (served as President of the local chapter).  Spencer has also held officer
roles in the Dublin Exchange Club, the Laurens County Advocates for Alzheimer’s Care,
the Laurens County Court Appointed Special Advocates, Pine Forest United Methodist
Church, and is a current member of the Finance Committee at First United
Methodist Church.  Just recently, he graduated from the Georgia Society
of CPA’s Leadership Academy.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE

Spencer enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.  He is a
huge fan of high school and college football, as well as enjoying camping,
fishing, hunting and back packing on the Appalachian Trail.
